Dana & Corey

Corey and Dana’s proposal was one of the sweetest (and coldest) proposals I’ve ever captured! What’s unique about their proposal is the story behind why Corey chose the Winship Cancer Institute as his location for proposing. When Corey reached out to me a couple of weeks before this moment, he shared that Dana was an architect who had helped design the Winship Cancer Center! Having never been there to see it, he wanted to be the first to take Dana there. So why not propose there, too? 

Corey planned to take her to Emory Hospital Midtown and walk with her to show her the Winship building. They would then go to a “birthday party” afterward with a friend who would meet them there. The friend is supposed to take a phone call after greeting them and step away, and at the moment, Corey is going to propose. I loved his plan! So, I scouted the location a few times to see what background would be best and exactly where I wanted him to stand. I ended up choosing the perfect spot in front of the very building Dana helped design! From where I had them standing, you can see the name of the building in big white letters in the background. It was perfect!

Justin came with me to offer support on the day of the proposal; since we already have childcare, why not tag along? We got there early to scout locations for their mini-session afterward while waiting for Corey to text me to let me know he was walking up. Corey never texted! But thankfully, Justin saw them RIGHT before they walked up! So we were in the right place at the right time! Right after the moment, Dana and Corey shared some sweet moments, and then they celebrated with their friends that were there! Obviously there was no party, so Dana had a good laugh at that! The next twenty minutes, we took photos in nearby scenic locations. Dana and Corey were filled with so much joy and warmth. There were lots of snuggles and lots of laughter! They were such a beautiful couple!
