Kara and Alex met five years before they got married. Their love started with Alex “sliding into her DM’s”. Now here they are, on their wedding day! Kara and Alex are both engineers, so basically super smart haha. But they are also really laid back! I had a really sweet engagement session with them prior to their wedding, and I got to know them a little better and see a glimpse of their relationship. It was after shooting their engagement session that they decided to also hire us for their wedding! Throughout their engagement, we had several video calls with them and really got to know them and see their personalities come to life. Needless to say, we were super excited for their wedding day.
Kara and Alex had their wedding at the Fall at Blue Ridge in Ellijay, Georgia. It was our first time shooting in Blue Ridge mountains! The area surrounding the venue was so beautiful and serene! I really enjoyed being in the mountains! A fun random memory that I had during our time there, was at the Airbnb we stayed in. It was our first day there, and we were trying to unload the car and a couple of baby goats tried to go inside of our car and wouldn’t leave our side! It was pretty funny. So I will always associate baby goats with their wedding haha!
Rain was actually on the forecast for Kara and Alex’s wedding day. Though we’re still able to take beautiful pictures with rain, it was much preferred not to because there were beautiful waterfall backgrounds at the venue and we wanted to make sure we could capture the couple in front of them! God was kind to us and held the rain, for the whole day! It was a beautiful day!
One thing that Kara and Alex emphasized during the engagement was how important the reception was to them. So much so, that they dedicated THREE HOURS to open floor dancing alone. Because I knew how much the dancing mattered, I studied and tried some new lighting techniques and they turned out to be amazing! They both loved them so much! Overall the day was filled with much laughter, silliness, and fun! I’m so glad they chose us!
